For London lawyer, Jack West, a chance meeting with an attractive and mysterious women one lunchtime in his local wine bar turns his day into disaster and his world upside down. The secret she hides however is far, far worse…
All I did was go to my local wine bar for lunch and a glass of my favourite Malbec. My instincts should have told me that the attractive brunette, who approached me, was trouble. She was foreign, perhaps Eastern European and called herself Amber. When she pleaded with me to leave with her after two sinister-looking guys entered the bar, I should have declined, but instead I made my first mistake. My second mistake was going back to her apartment.
An Erotic Encounter…
Twenty minutes later, and I’m feeling intoxicated with her sexual magnetism and I find myself in a situation I never thought possible, but the fun ends abruptly and all hell breaks loose. The guys from the bar are at the door, and breaking in, shouting in a foreign language, sounds like Russian. And then suddenly – Thwack…Thwack! Amber has been shot, assassinated in front of me, her blood is everywhere. She falls back into my arms, and with her last breath, whispers; “Jack, run…Take my bag…and run!”
A Terrorist Attack…
I only have seconds to think. I grab Amber’s bag and flee for the fire escape, dodging a hail of bullets in the process, but the two assassins come after me.
A Global Catastrophe…
I finally make it home and work my way through the contents of the handbag, Was Amber an assassin? A spy? Perhaps even a terrorist? I slowly manage to join the dots, put some pieces of the puzzle together, but the more I learn the more terrified I become…and then my wife finds out.
RED MIST is a gripping, unputdownable, edge-of-your-seat, thriller with terrorism elements that will keep you turning the pages until the very end. If you enjoy espionage and spy thrillers and the action and adventure of a James Bond or Jason Bourne movie then you will love this fast paced mystery thriller.
