The true story of a married couple in their thirties who resolve to quit their jobs and abandon their conventional lives to follow a dream of living on a sailboat and exploring the path less traveled—a plan some of their family and friends consider to be a ‘half-assed scheme’ at best. The expected yearlong adventure evolves into a quarter-century voyage of discovery spanning half the globe. Come along as Randy and Cheryl cruise their small boat to intriguing destinations you won’t find in any tourist brochure. Along the way they discover the best and worst the sailing life has to offer. Not always easy but never boring, their adventures and misadventures include encounters with hurricanes, thieves, drug smugglers and a disastrous tsunami as well as lasting new friendships formed with local people and fellow sailors all along their route. A rousing tale that will leave you yearning for more and maybe even convince you to take the plunge yourself and join the ranks of the world’s sea nomads.
