Tasty Bits by Jon Sindell

From Jon Sindell’s comic kitchen come forty-one morsels to please the palate of the most thoughtful fan of funny, from savory satires to pungent parodies to spicy spoofs to nutty narratives and more.

“Jon Sindell has read everything, thought about everything, laughed about everything, and shown us how to laugh too, just when we need it most. His crazily inspired and carefully crafted short humor pieces stand with the best that any contemporary American has done in this neglected and undervalued medium. I’ve often had the pleasure of publishing his work. Now all of us have the pleasure of seeing these pieces collected in one place for posterity. Posterity had better damn well appreciate it.” ~ Kurt Luchs, humorist, poet, and editor of The Big Jewel (2002-2019)

Pianist in a Bordello

What would happen if a politician decided to tell the truth—the whole truth?
Richard Youngblood, aspiring Congressman, is about to find out. He’s running on a platform of honesty and transparency—and against the advice of his friends and advisers he’s decided to start with himself. His autobiography will lay his entire life bare before voters just days before the election.
And what a life he’s had. Born in a commune and named Richard Milhous Nixon Youngblood as an angry shot at his absent father, Richard grows up in the spotlight, the son of an enigmatic fugitive and the grandson of a Republican senator. He’s kidnapped and rescued, kicked out of college for a prank involving turkeys, arrested in Hawaii while trying to deliver secrets to the CIA…Dick Nixon Youngblood’s ready to tell all.
He’ll even tell his readers about the Amandas—three women who share a name but not much else, and who each have helped shape and define the man he’s become.
Are voters really ready for the whole truth?
Are you?
Pianist in a Bordello is a hilarious political romp through the last four decades of American history, from a narrator who is full of surprises.

Bargain Book: Election 2016: Contracting Primary Fever by A.D. Walker

By Bargain Book Lover Leave a Comment

primaryfever_coverThe 2016 U.S. Presidential campaign is in full swing, and many of the things candidates are saying and doing on the campaign trail have caused both shock and amusement among voters at home.

This political humor themed e-book takes a silly, satirical look at some of the major players on the right-wing side of the primary campaign, imagining some of their thoughts on their election prospects, as well as a debate between several of them as they try to convince the American people they would make the best president.

Names have been changed (just slightly) to protect the not-so-innocent, but anybody who has watched the news in the last year will easily recognize this crazy cast of political characters.

An off center love story about a man who walks two steps forward and one backward, hates change, and after his wife leaves him because he is a lousy writer and will never be able to buy her gold and diamonds, moves to Lost City, an obscure art town, and opens a gallery called WHY AM I HERE, vowing he will never fall in love again. But, as life goes, he tumbles head over heels for Vivian, owner of a coffee house named the WAKE UP OR DIE, but when he tries to tell her I love you all he can stammer is, “I, I, I, Lo, Lo, Lo,” and he starts choking like there is a meatball stuck in his throat. A zany look at modern life with a cast of not so normal characters – a blind painter, a lady that believes there is a rock of rocks that will enlighten mankind, people that are paranoid because there is only six billion years until the sun devours the earth, two hundred dogs that are tired of organic dog treats, a woman that is so happy bubbles trail behind her, a man with sixteen girlfriends, and many many more. A love story that will leave you with a smile and a warm feeling in your heart and shaking your head saying, “I have never read a novel like this one.”
