Meet the owner:
Deborah Carney
Deborah has a large network of sites for book lovers – the BookGoodies Network – that was established in 2002 and grew into an expanded network of sites to connect readers and authors in 2011 -2012. She was contacted by the founders to take over the site when they decided they were ready to move on because they know she is passionate about giving authors the tools they need to grow their readership and is dedicated to helping readers discover the authors they wish they had known about all along.

Lynn West
Lynn West began her career in Internet marketing in 1998. While she does hold two university degrees, she doesn’t attribute her successful Internet marketing and book promotion career to her formal education. She found that when promoting on the Internet, experience is the only thing that actually matters.
After major changes began to take place with Google that affected her Internet marketing portfolio, West began writing e-books. She quickly discovered that promotion took more time than any other aspect of self-publishing. So she used her vast Internet marketing experience to test which strategies would be the most effective for promoting indie books. Once she perfected her strategy, she started offering a simple version as a “gig” on Fiverr.com. Going by the name “TheDesertGirl,” she offered basic book promotion to members of Amazon’s KDP program. In the beginning, submitting to 10 or so large book promotion sites and a handful of specialized tweets were about all that was needed to receive several thousand downloads. Those days are over, however, and it takes more promotion to have that kind of success during your free days today.
Changes in Amazon, combined with the exponential growth in the number of e-books, have enormously affected every part of Internet book promotion. Cognizant of these changes, West is constantly learning, reading and testing to help authors receive the best promotion experience possible. When she realized her customers would need more than book submissions in order to succeed, FreeDiscountedBooks.com was born. The site was created for two reasons: to help promote indie authors and to give readers access to exciting indie books.
Carla Chadwick
Carla Chadwick brings almost four decades of art and editing production experience to FreeDiscountedBooks.com. She began her career as an art director. After many years of working in that arena, she segued into writing and editing for major corporations and government entities. More recently she has applied her skills as an editorial consultant, blogger and self-published author.
Throughout her long career, Chadwick has served diverse clients that span all sizes, from the US Department of Commerce and Citibank Latin America to young authors needing editing and cover design services to launch their first books. Her areas of expertise include writing and editing, blogging, social media, advertising development, and book cover design, formatting and marketing.
