The mission of BRS Anelace was supposed to be simple and uneventful…
When Anelace is sent to investigate the accidents plaguing mining operations in a remote star system, Captain Garrett Heskan and his officers soon suspect more than random mishaps are in play. As clues to the mystery unfold, the stakes quickly turn deadly in a cat-and-mouse game to expose the true threat while protecting the civilian miners in the system. Heskan’s first command could be his last, as Anelace is outnumbered and outgunned in her fight for survival.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
I tend to weave my interest in military history into my stories, which might seem unusual in the science fiction genre. This Corner of the Universe (Book 1) has an “age of sail” flavor to it, and even paid homage to a classic battle of that era. No Way to Start a War (Book 2) carries a “birth of aviation” subplot throughout its story. The Wrong Side of Space (Book 3) introduces marines to the fray, and also has a line inspired by an interesting communication incident during a World War II sea battle. You can find details about these tie-ins for each book on my website in the book notes or blog areas.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
As a long-time reader of science fiction, and a former Air Force officer, writing military scifi was a natural place for me to start. I also wanted to write a scifi series with clear character story arc that begins and ends. This Corner of the Universe is Book 1 in Captain Garrett Heskan’s story.
