What should have been a fun, relaxing weekend break for a group of close friends, turns into a night of drunken confessions. Encouraged by a devious interloper, the tipsy four divulge secrets that they have long held close and share their stories of guilt, regret, embarrassment and shame.
When they realize that the scheming Cassie has started to publish their intimate tales in a tacky magazine, the women are horrified and fearful about the consequences of their secrets being revealed. They devise a plan, but will it be enough to protect them from their own confessions?

About the Author
Jules has always been an avid reader, enjoying many types of fiction from the great classics to science fiction and contemporary novels. Ten years spent commuting into London gave her ample opportunity to read even the most challenging fiction such as Dostoevsky, which she found to be more of a chore than a pleasure, and Steinbeck which was a delight.
As her family grew and she found herself rushing around looking after three children, she sought out lighter subject matter and read more contemporary and women’s fiction. It was at this point that she thought that she could possibly write something that would be enjoyable and hopefully meaningful, and would allow her creativity an outlet.
The Nature of Secrets is Jules's second novel, and following the widely imparted advice to write about something you know, she decided to write about how complicated the relationships between close friends can be and how everyone has a whole inner world that nobody knows anything about. She is interested in issues related to mental health and well-being, and wanted to normalize the fact that the majority of people will have issues related to their mental health at some point in their lives.
