How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
I write Inspirational. As a result, faith is an important part of what shapes the plot of any story, whether it’s from a character of strong faith, or a character who is questioning and searching. This particular book is also a western, and that’s always fun! I got to research the farming methods of the 1800s, what types of crops grew well in different parts of Idaho, and more. The research is always fun. 🙂
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Keep writing, and be open to learning from criticism.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Sometimes we find ourselves haunted by the past. Our experiences shape our decisions, reactions, and motivations. Yet we don’t dare let down our guard enough so that people can understand. I wanted to write a story about such a person and about the beauty that patience and tender care can render.
About the Author:
Heather Gray authors the Ladies of Larkspur inspirational western romance series, including Mail Order Man, Just Dessert, and Redemption. She also writes the Regency Refuge series: His Saving Grace, Jackal, and Queen (coming soon) plus contemporary titles – Ten Million Reasons and Nowhere for Christmas. Aside from a long-standing love affair with coffee, Heather’s greatest joys are her relationships with her Savior and family. Heather prefers laughing to yelling. This theme is prevalent in her writing where, through the highs and lows, her characters find a way to love God, embrace each day, and laugh out loud right along with her.
