The poets sang of heroes.
Norse myth and Germanic legend are the major themes of Warrior Lore, a collection of Scandinavian medieval ballads in a new English verse translation. There are stories of heroes, revenge, feats of strength, riddles, and troll fighting. Even the Norse gods put in an appearance.
