How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
I’ve been compared by readers to Kathy Reichs, Orson Scott Card, and Douglas Adams. That made my day! Sci-fi that’s true to science with real characters and is funny to boot makes geeky-types like me happy but still grabs those whose interests are more broad that just speculative fiction.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Critiques hurt. And that’s the best thing that can happen to you. Study the bruises they leave and adjust your writing.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I created more characters that excited me than one novel could hold. Three of my favorites had stories that I wanted to write and fans wanted to read.
About the Author:
Mr. Dalton is a professional student who has taken an occasional hiatus for such frivolities as teaching high school science, residential construction, and treating patients as a physician assistant. In a moment of rebellion from graduate school stress, his brain refused to pay attention until certain stories were written down. He lives with his wife and children, and is planning a mountain bike trip on the moon.
