How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
With this novel, I focused on pure action. There are deep characters and scientifically accurate world-building, but my goal was to write a novel full of action and suspense. I was driven by shows like “24” and “Prison Break” where the heroes face disasters and conflicts constantly. Imagine what the worst possible thing is that could happen at any moment, and that’s exactly what happens, and they have to deal with it.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was developing an insectoid alien race, just for fun, and came up with the idea of a biological computer that connected their ships. It occurred to me that such a device would be invaluable to an enemy fighting them, and imagined someone trying to steal it. That’s where my hero, Jason Locke, came in.
