Etta was certainly going to try. After her turbulent undergraduate years, she was getting a fresh start in Marquette and finishing her dream. She’d pour everything she had into a healthy mind, body and spirit and work to become the best writer she could. What a dream spot to do it, along the shores of Lake Superior.
Tom was forging a new vision for his life after a career-ending injury as a power player on Northern Michigan’s college hockey team. The NHL was no longer in his future. But what were his prospects? Where would he find that something he’d longed for, to build a life like his parents had? How could he form what they had found together?
After a meeting of the minds, Tom and Etta create a bond from friendship. That friendship blossoms into romance. But is it really possible to start anew with so much baggage and no clear vision of the future? Do your experiences shape you into someone who can make something pure and clean from the crumbling embers? Or will the past always come looking for you when you least expect it?
Words from another Henrietta, who rebuilt her life from tragedy, bring the answers that allow Etta to move forward. But is it already too late?

About the Author
Patricia M Jackson started out life as a farmer’s daughter, keeping chickens, selling eggs, growing up in a series of small Minnesotan towns. Her earliest memory is listening as her mother read Milton’s “Paradise Lost” as a bedtime story. She’s always loved a good book and reads voraciously. She was a child prodigy as a pianist, becoming a virtuoso by seventeen. She has an inherent love for music. It’s her first language. Everything else is a translation. She’s one of those people who can’t stop the creative process. She still sings and plays, but mainly for herself, her friends and family. She paints, sews and bakes. She has a math degree and has worked for twenty years as a programmer. She loves children and was once a high-school teacher. It’s fair to say she’s eclectic.
Patricia writes romantic fiction and she wants to share her writing with you because the stories she’s telling deserve to be told. She draws inspiration for her novels from real people she’s found in researching genealogy or that she’s known who lived inspired lives. Those real people deserve to be remembered. We don’t always know all of the specifics of their lives, so she weaves their true-to-life details with fiction within a romance. Why romance? Well, because love and romance are universal and a good romance is a great read.
You’ll find Patricia M Jackson at home in the metro Minneapolis area where she lives with her husband and her geriatric dog, Charlie. She’s probably dreaming of a new love and adventure for characters she can’t wait to share with you.
