About the Author:
Abha Iyengar is an internationally published freelance writer, author and poet from New Delhi and a British Council certified Creative Writing Facilitator. Her work has appeared in Dead Drunk Dublin, Kritya, Muse India, The Asian Writer, Pure Slush, and others. She is a Kota Press Poetry Anthology contest winner. She conducts creative writing and poetry workshops and has written a couple of screenplays. Her poem-film “Parwaaz” won a special jury prize at the film festival at Greece and has been screened to acclaim at various international film festivals. She is winner of the Mariner Award (2010), and the Lavanya Sankaran fellowship (2010) She is a finalist in the FlashMob 2013 Flash Fiction contest. Her poems have appeared in the Anthology of Contemporary Indian Poets (ed. Menka Shivdasani). For her first novel, ‘Shrayan’, she was honoured with the BtB Literary Award (2102). Her published works are ‘Yearnings’ (poetry), ‘Flash Bites’ (flash fiction), ‘Shrayan’ and ‘Many Fish to Fry’ (novels).
